Good movie, but it’s been a while since I saw it last. Cameron Crowe’s teenager experience made into film. Probably a lot of half truths with a bunch of real stuff mixed in. The Stillwater band is totally the Allman Brothers Band and most of that pairs up.

Saw this for the first time a few months ago at a movie night I do with friends every so often. It was a fun watch! I’d recommend to music lovers and people who appreciate angsty coming-of-age stories.

I miss living in an age where something like this could be produced. There’s no way this movie would work now. Disney (Marvel and Star Wars) has pretty much fucked things up pretty badly now.

I don’t think we’ll ever go back to being able to see this type of film being made.

FYI: The movie didn’t make a profit in theaters worldwide. So it most likely became a movie type to not make.

I don’t know why Marvel movies always get shit on.

Isn’t it the audience’s fault? We’re not watching enough indie stuff in theatres or just wanna pirate movies or stream on Netflix instead right?

The Marvel garbage made it safe and easy for the film industry to make bank. No one wants to take risks on original stories now. It’s too easy to just recycle the same plot and characters and cash big checks now.

So that’s why they get shit on. They raised the lowest common denominator in film to become the status quo. Poorly written nonsense with bright flashy explosions.

Ah okay, I mean I buy that part too but I think that’s more investors and the film industry themselves to blame.

I say that, but I also blame Apple for getting the industry on removing the SD card slot, headphone jack too. So I follow the same logic it seems.

I also think Netflix and streaming have changed things. A lot more interesting shows are being streamed and we likely don’t hear about them either with the market segmentation on different platforms. There’s a chance more people would go to the cinema to watch more “spectacle” or “events”. I think that’s kinda been shown because the MCU has been throwing bomb after bomb up until Deadpool and Wolverine.
