This might get some folks throwing rocks at me and burn me alive, but… I used to care about how private my browser is, if it has (x) or (x) features that may compromise it or not…but right now? I just don’t care anymore. There are so many “off the stage” things happening in it while they promise totally the opposite that right now I’m like, “I’m using whatever is the “least terrible”.”

There’s also many different takes on privacy as a whole. I personally don’t mind software collecting statistics or debug data for automatic bug reports, but I don’t want cookies tracking me through multiple websites and building a profile with all my data.

But some folks will claim you’re an absolute fool if you even allow a program to check for updates automatically.

From many of the comments it seems the community doesn’t like Brendan Eich and crypto, and maybe even practises a cancel culture. Because the CEO’s beliefs about gay marriage or showing few crypto links don’t make Brave a better or worse software.

You are right, but when I choose the software I use I don’t only consider if it is a “good” software or not, but also ethical reasons
