I mean, it doesn’t help that league also has a reputation for being super toxic. I only follow league in any capacity cause a close friend loves watching the LCS but it seems like a cool game, I just don’t really wanna get into something that would consume all my time and expose me to shitty people CONSTANTLY :.
And it’s such a hard commit too. If you get stuck with a bad group, that’s maybe 40 minutes of negative experience.
consume all my time and expose me to shitty people CONSTANTLY
Sounds like any competitive game and social media out there, including this one. lol
Idk I guess thats fair, the only competitive online game I play is splatoon which has it’s issues (recently a huge scandal in the pro scene) but is way better than just about any other online competitive game.
My experiences with actually interacting with people on lemmy or mastodon have been pretty lovely though 🤷🏻
They need more introductory tools/mini games that teach you the basics.
They also need regular events that bring new players in at the same time. They’ll have a better time when they’re matched against each other. You can’t really guarantee this, but giving people maybe 1-3 “new player week” per year would raise the probability.
It’s a shame they don’t have time to do this before Arcane season 2. It’s a shame they didn’t do this years ago.
Any game has churn. If you’re not bringing in new players, then you’re dying.
EVE Online from 2000-2014 is the gold standard of longevity. (After that they fired their economist and ruined the economy.)
Agreed. Arcane was the perfect opportunity to bring in a bunch of new players, but they should’ve supported it with new player experiences and tools.
Y’all are wildly known for being toxic basement dwelling incels who have an extreme fear of touching grass.
Umm, you sound just as toxic as the very people you criticize.
I didn’t say I agree with it but having that stereotype about your community obviously isn’t going to attract people.
