It’s dead simple to buy and start running your own node. You can get a Heltec v3 for $25 or less on Amazon and after a quick flash, you’re in business.
Some people may prefer to assemble their node from parts rather then buying a completed appliance.

I’m not. Those people are welcome to do that still. OP posted a dead/malformed link, and I didn’t want to dissuade potentially interested readers from trying out the tech.

A common thing I see is people running these part-15 (in the US) devices with upgraded antenna systems, which isn’t permitted. Either run it under amateur rules or under part 15.
