You know, CNN… I’m American. I don’t really know the Celsius temperature scale all that well. But at least wait until the body before you assume I’m too stupid or lazy to just look it up. Either that or just use Fahrenheit in the headline.
The objective method is to put one of them in parentheses. But that removed the shock effect that they’re going for with the second sentence. I don’t really use Celsius and have to remind myself what’s what, but I think it’s pretty common to know that 100C is boiling water, and half of that is pretty bad.
You have to remember to talk to people at about a 3rd grade level in a lot of professions. Don’t assume people understand these basic things sadly
Double the number, add 30 = Fahrenheit
