I don’t live in California, but this hit close to home for me. I just bought a house in March, and at the time I didn’t have a dog. My insurance agency, out of nowhere, dropped my insurance (no questions asked) because they saw a pit bull in my yard. Turns out my neighbor has a pit bull, and it came into my yard. I was able to get the decision appealed, but I was blown away that they’d actually sent someone to spy on me. Be careful out there!

Or, like, living in an area that’s susceptible to wildfires. Which is pretty much anything outside of a major urban center in CA.
