so it seems fitting.

Do people go around looking for Swastikas in stuff? Even if I was a conspiracy theorist, an X is still an X. Especially when it’s not even a symmetrical X, you’re really pulling at strings I think.

Is there something tangible? Slack’s logo is a symbol that suggests clockwise rotation while the version of the swastika that the Nazis used is a symbol that suggests counterclockwise rotation.

Especially given that the Nazis appropriated one version of a symbol that had many other versions/uses/meanings in different cultures, do we really need to equate every symbol or logo that has remote similarities to the swastika with Nazism?

Neither saying that Slack’s logo is a swastika nor that it’s a Nazi swastika. But there’s a certain similarity to a swastika which doesn’t exist with the X logo.

It’s a shower thought baconator, nothing more serious than that. I think the idea of a shower thought it to pull strings. You know, to avoid pulling something else. :)

I think he’s just been super into X for decades starting with some /r/Ithinkthisisdeep mathematics symbolism he placed on it way back when he co-founded X.com before it was bought by PayPal. He puts it into literally everything. I don’t think there’s much more to it than an edgelord trying to brand himself around a cool sounding letter with quasi “I am very smart” mathematical symbolism. Highly doubt the dudes a Nazi. It’s genuinely far dumber than that.

See, this is not a shower thought. This is a thought.

That said, when you’re in a place full of nazis, you’re in a nazi place. You might not be a nazi, but you’re in a place with them.

I get the humor in it but this is probably not a road worth going down. Trying to equate the physical letter X with a Swastika feels like folks are really stretching it to the breaking point. Plenty of other things to shit on Musk over than equating an X to some nefarious Nazi conspiracy. That’s like straight up right wing Pizzagate territory.

Yeah. His actual support and amplification of literal Nazis is what makes him a Nazi, not whatever additional dog whistles he tries to make happen or stumbles into.

I think people have forgotten what showerthought means. Not serifs, but sheriffs of bad thinking in the shower.
