I feel like Go Your Own Way is more of a breakup song than it is a diss track. It’s about how he loves her but knows they want different things.

Still BRUTAL to have Nicks doing the backups on the line that is very obviously specifically about her.

Their biggest album was songs about each other, their relationships going sideways.

      Impressive… Lol

Yea, but in return Buckingham sang the lead vocals in a song clearly about him (The Chain). It’s great to watch the live recordings because you can see how nicks and buckingham are spitting the words at each other.

I tried listening to find what you’re talking about, but I cannot endure her goat-bleating voice. I honestly wonder how her band members can endure listening to that fingernails-on-chalkboard voice hours a day for decades. I’m glad I could click away so easily.

I mean, you’re not wrong. But, some of the most artistic singers don’t have the best voices. Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, Biz Markie, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, etc.

You start with a bunch of drama. Mix in some personal animosity and a dash of dysfunction. Then you add a little cocaine. Ok, a little more. Actually let’s go with a lot more. Mix it all up real good. Then you take the mixture, give it a dramatic name, like “Rumours”, pop it into a record press, and voila! Out pops a crisp, best selling album.

any time I ask fleetwood mac fans what makes them special, it’s always that they were really awful to one another, and the person telling me about it always gets really excited like I should be impressed that they were really awful to one another.

To be fair, if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that shitty people make great music. No idea why that is, but it’s weirdly consistent.

Not according to Randy, they didn’t.

Generally, it’s not about any one person in particular. It’s about people in the music industry whose egos become needlessly inflated and they show it. It’s a general song. It’s applicable to anyone in their life.

I don’t have the actual source but I read it on Wikipedia way back

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Redneck_(song)&oldid=602726840

Don’t know why it got deleted.

“It’s pretty clear to everyone who the song [Redneck] is about. Just watch the Killadelphia DVD, and you’ll see what was going on. I love Randy like a brother, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have our problems. So if I have to be the one to say something, then I will. And if that means that someone’s gonna get punched in the mouth, then someone’s gonna get punched in the mouth… And if that means someone’s going to have to sing a lyric about themselves, then they’re gonna sing a lyric about themselves.”
