Ukrainian forces would have to cede further territory to Russia if US military aid does not arrive soon, President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned, in his latest appeal to Congress to pass a multibillion-dollar package.

President Joe Biden’s administration is struggling to push a $95 billion international aid package – which includes $60 billion for Ukraine – through the House of Representatives more than month since it was passed in the Senate.

Zelensky warned that the lack of aid was urgent, and could endanger Ukraine’s major cities.

“If there is no US support, it means that we have no air defense, no Patriot missiles, no jammers for electronic warfare, no 155-millimeter artillery rounds,” he told The Washington Post during a recent interview published Friday. “It means we will go back, retreat, step by step, in small steps.”

As long as conservatives have any power, they will always support Putin. Conservatives support genocide. That is just who they are at their core.

Throughout history, the nations committing genocide have always been the most conservative. We cannot fight genocide without fighting conservatism.

This is a very dangerous take, and it’s concerning how many upvoters you have, who are also not thinking critically.

You seem to be forgetting that liberals and conservatives in this country are all Americans. We are all on one team, and foreign interests wish to divide us and convince us that we are enemies, when we are not.

Watch this if you don’t believe me.

Conservatives need liberals to exist as much as liberals need conservatives to exist. The day this country’s tensions between conservatism and liberalism die is the day the USA ceases to exist. That tension is at the core of our republic, literally since its founding, and it’s what makes us great, unlike any other nation on Earth.

I wish more progressives would remember that.

That sounds as if this tension was somehow unique to the united states. It’s not, it’s everywhere. Even worse, the US have less of a political spectrum than most other nations, just shy of dictatorships.

Yes they do actually. They actually want more bombs and money to go to israel. If they gain power, you can bet they would dump dozens of billions as fast as possible into Israel.

They just want 0 to go to Ukraine so they block it for daddy Putin.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Ukrainian forces would have to cede further territory to Russia if US military aid does not arrive soon, President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned, in his latest appeal to Congress to pass a multibillion-dollar package.

“If there is no US support, it means that we have no air defense, no Patriot missiles, no jammers for electronic warfare, no 155-millimeter artillery rounds,” he told The Washington Post during a recent interview published Friday.

Much of Ukraine’s east has been under Russian military control since Moscow launched its invasion more than two years ago.

While its strategic significance is limited, the loss of Avdiivka - taken together with Moscow’s capture of the town of Bakhmut last year - indicates how the war appears to have turned in Russia’s favor.

This came after Putin secured an unsurprising victory in a widely discredited presidential election earlier this month.

“If the front remains stable, Ukraine can arm and train new brigades in the rear to conduct a new counteroffensive later this year,” he said.

Wdym the Western aid is restricted from counterattacking? Nothing about that is true, U.S. aid is being held up solely by the Republicans, and European aid is continuing mostly as normal. None of Ukraine’s counteroffensives have ever led to a decrease in aid, only an increase.

In Germany, whenever the discussion about wether to deliver a specific weapon system or not extends to a “new” weapon system, this usually is an argument against. Hurr durr, it could be used to poke too deep into Russian-held territory, or beware, even strike native Russian soil. Russia might not like that and pull Germany into the war or throw a nuke or whatnot.

What line are you talking about? The Russian army is in ukrainian territory and needs to be kicked out, no one is talking about invading Russia.

I seem to remember sth like that was said at the beginning of the war.

Now France is talking about putting boots on the ground, multiple attacks on Crimean infrastructure already happened and Europe is getting more worried about the getting attacked as well if Putin gets his way.

I doubt anyone cares about it anymore and Putin can punch sand.

Typically the rules have been that they can use the weapons on occupied Ukrainian lands, but not pre-2014 Russian territory.

They can use the aid to take back what has been stolen but can’t use missiles to bomb Moscow for added pressure to stop the war.

The strategy until recently was more about the steady attrition of Russian HR and equipment, which is a long term game, but needs the proper funding, otherwise Ukraine would have to give up positions.
