Hi all ^^

I just beat the game and I’m attempting to go through it again on

spoiler-ish? maybe? i don't know if this spoils anything

new game plus

without using the ring and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions about getting better at properly executing it?

I was using the ring on my first playthrough because I had really bad coordination issues and I wanted to be able to enjoy the story without worrying about it (it was the only assistance ring I used) but now I want to try without it and i can get it a good portion of the time but with quicker enemies it’s proving to be difficult.

hopefully this is an ok place to post. thank you in advance! :)

Different attacks have different timings. Some enemies have long windups to their attacks, and some strike fast, so you need to learn the attack pattern of each type of enemy. It’s easier to react when you can predict the moves. Most attacks have enough visual leadup that you have plenty of time to react if you know what to look for and keep your eyes on your opponent.

The general aim is to dodge as close to before impact as possible. You can use the Ring of Timely Focus to get a little practice. It slows down time a bit during the dodge window.

Thanks! That makes sense too - the dragoons are particularly quick but it’s helpful to know that it’s not uniform across all enemies! :)
