2·9 days agoI often have dreams where I’m trying to use my phone, many of them in emergencies and I’m trying to call for help. But the interface is so broken and enshitified I can’t get to what I need.
2·11 days agoI deleted Facebook, messenger and WhatsApp. Anyone who doesn’t want to use signal has my number to SMS text. Which is shit and chargeable. They may come around.

My favourite Colm Meaney scene is from a film in the 90sish, he’s a traditional man of his era type in Ireland who’s teenage daughter gets pregnant outside of wedlock. He’s very conservative but tries to understand his daughter and her situation and womanhood. Leading to a bit where he’s in bed with his wife.
He disappears under the duvet and his wife all shocked screams Ooh! OOH! Grabs him by the head and drags him up and demands to know WHERE DID YOU LEARN THAT??
“OWWW! From a book! Just a book!”
“WHAT BOOK??”
“<daughter’s> book!!”

He’s read his daughter’s sexual health and pregnancy book, learned what the clitoris is, and…

That game is why I thought of it! I forgot to include in the post, I thought the reason we feel pain when suffocating is our lungs not liking CO2, but some gases like helium you’ll just drop dead before you know what’s happening?

Never occurred to me. I was not the owner of that business. Also sounds like a liability, and it wasn’t up to us to find or manage ways for an adult to figure their shit out.
Loved that game.
Sort of related, life has been challenging recently so been thinking about making a tshirt that reads “Fuck this, I’m replaying Stardew Valley again”.
