Lemmy-status.org does a decent job of tracking many instances including lemmynsfw. That being said, this community isn’t really for asking questions about lemmy, it’s for asking thought provoking questions to the people on lemmy

junkthiefto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Backup/Server Options - is Syncthing / Nextcloud really the go?English5·6 days agoLemmy definitely has a search function. Due to federation (and specifically how lemmy.zip has federated with lemmy.world) you can easily search from your home instance of lemmy.zip and limit your search to this community

This is the wrong community for that question. look at rule 5

junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s one thing you wish more people noticed in everyday life?English4·11 days agoI don’t think this is a situation of noticing or not noticing, I’m pretty sure most folks over a certain age literally cannot hear those frequencies. Then there’s the “lucky” ones of us that can still hear every little whine 🙃
At least half
junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•is there a discussion hub for the Lemmy framework itself?English4·12 days agoIt’s not just in your mind, it’s a rule in the sidebar for this community that it’s not for support 😋
Probably https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy_support, that’s where the Lemmy devs are
I don’t think that’s a duck- ducks tend to quack, not honk! Although neither ducks nor geese tend to have multiple re-growing heads…
junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you know of a dating app which caters primarily to heterosexuals, respects your privacy, doesn't use analytics and doesn't require G00g13 services to function properly?English3·17 days agoI suspect that it seems like an odd thing to feel the need to specify. Most of the world caters to heterosexuals. The existence of some dating apps that target LGBTQ subgroups is unlikely to have thrown off any recommendations you would have gotten. “You want privacy and to avoid google? You need Grindr or HER”
junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think the trans-movement is starting to fizzle out?English24·18 days agoThere is no “trans movement”, you’re probably just noticing trans people for the first time. As the current president and many states make it harder, or downright dangerous for them to live their lives, you’re probably going to see trans folks either speaking out or those who used to be more open keeping their heads down out of fear for their safety
I hope everyone can spot the goober. I think a closer shot or a circle/indication would definitely lessen the effect of its gooberness. I was quite amused when I saw it
junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Looking to change to a Linux-based OS on a laptop, but I don't really understand coding so I haven't tried any of them. Is LinuxMint a good place to start?English12·19 days agoI don’t understand coding either and I’ve installed different Linux distributions before! You can do it! Are you perhaps confusing coding with running commands in the command line? Because even running commands may not be necessary for a graphical installations like the aforementioned Linux Mint, Pop OS or similar.
I will say the nice thing about picking a popular distribution like Ubuntu, Mint, or Pop! OS, is that it’s easier to find solutions to problems, because it’s more likely that someone has posted about it online and found a solution
junkthiefto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something incredibly useful you can buy for roughly £100 or less?English2·20 days agoI’ve yet to find a brand that takes larger than average noggins into account 😅
junkthiefto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•i accidentally defiled a corpse, what do i do?English20·22 days agoYou didn’t defile anything, if anything you fulfilled why they would have wanted their ashes scattered in that vicinity. They likely enjoyed that spot for the same reasons you did and would probably be glad that you found it too
As soon as I posted that, I realized the quote is different from the book title, which is why I deleted my comment. How strange that you could still see it to reply to it!
In case anyone else is like me and had no idea what “3D shooting” meant, it seems to refer to archery where the targets are 3 dimensional foam models, usually of game animals (rather than flat paper targets).
It’s not necessarily about being rich. You have an identity that can be abused to get stuff like credit and loans and open up accounts depending on what they can get. Obviously they’re not going to get THAT far with just a single recording of you saying “hello”, but I want to dispel the myth that only the rich are targeted by scammers
Skeeved by it, got it, thanks! My pedantry for spelling was overriding my reading comprehension skills 😆
