This but unironically
Bring someone with a similar age diff home (just for show, don’t have to actually do anything) and tell him about his hypocrisy when he gets mad

Thank you! You too!!
belluckto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What language courses did they have in your country’s schools?2·19 days agoAs a German:
- English mandatory from the beginning
- Mandatory choice between Latin and French in 6th grade, Latin possible until 10th/11th grade (EF) and French possible until graduation
- Russian and Spanish possible from EF until graduation
- Korean and Japanese offered as extracurricular activities (Korean was taught by the parent of a student and stopped when said student graduated, Japanese was offered by a teacher who was a weeb so we mostly just watched anime (I think the only thing we actually learned was how to introduce ourselves), but it only started being offered 6 months before Covid shut everything down, don’t know if she continued offering it afterwards)
cute song, thanks for sharing!
belluckto Technology@lemmy.world•Is Miss England's AI round dangerous or progressive?English11·21 days agoThis just seems like it would cause even more body dysphoria than these beauty contests already do. How is this different than just allowing fucking Photoshop? Just creates even more unrealistic body standards
belluckto Technology@lemmy.world•Is Miss England's AI round dangerous or progressive?English22·21 days agoIn what fucking way would it be „progressive“?
Someone needs to tell Race Direction that the battles are supposed to go on the big screen, not that tiny thingy at the side
Oh hey my own post showed up on my home feed
Look at the current US government and tell me again that you honestly believe that is a good idea
Don’t know why the other guy is talking like it’s too disgusting to even mention, but: He merged them and the result is a semi-conscious mess doomed to suffer for the rest of its life
That is mentioned in the Wikipedia article, but given the fact that þ also hasn’t been used for hundreds of years, I think it would make sense to re-adopt both letters to distinguish between the sounds (though accents will probably make things confusing)
Btw, þ is supposed to be used for the “hard” th (Wikipedia article for the corresponding phoneme with audio sample).
The “soft” th has another letter, ð (Wikipedia).

Was weist darauf hin? Sieht für mich einfach wie ein normales Foto von einem Toast Hawaii (oder wie auch immer das heißt) aus
belluckto Casual Conversation@piefed.social•It's Saturday, what have you watched this week?1·1 month agoRewatched the Evangelion Rebuild movies.
Better than I remembered, but I still don’t get why Mari/Mary/Maria? (The subs I used were a bit confusing) exists. Would be better without her tbh
PC games would allow everyone to play with whatever controller they prefer.
In general, mainstream/casual audiences will enjoy games like Fifa (or maybe the NBA or NFL equivalent since you’re US) and, if you’ve got a Nintendo console, Mario Kart is a very popular casual tournament game with the option to play as teams as well.
If the participants play shooters, things like (older) Call of Duty games, Overwatch, and maybe Fortnite for more modern audiences are decent options. If they’re more competitive, Counterstrike 2 or Valorant are good as well. Retro Gamers might like Halo or Quake as well.
If they’re into strategy you could play Civilization or Age of Empires, though those games might take a bit long.
For Racing Games, Trackmania is a Time Trial game with a Hot Seat mode, where players take turns trying to drive the fastest time on a track with a time limit. Otherwise, Sonic Racing could be an alternative to Mario Kart that’s available on PC, or you could try a Sim (Forza Motorsport is good for controllers and has split-screen, Assetto Corsa is a more hardcore Simulator which would require multiple setups)
