Sireslyto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•You don’t see articles like this about moms with two jobs who still manage to take care of their kidsEnglish21·16 days agoYou’re getting hung up on the gender of a hypothetical person brought up as an example in this one instance, where I can’t see why any result would be cause for consternation when, as you say, the focus here should be on the class factor.
I assume the example here was a poor woman in order to maximize juxtaposition of the example versus the subject matter of the cited article, which is about a rich dude. Whatever the reason, this seems irrelevant.

Red bear eat beet. Green bear eat pear.
It’s a fair observation and very agreeable when the intent is to focus deserved ire on the primary element responsible for the wretched state of the world. But this could also be used to absolve oneself of inaction, deny any personal responsibility, to justify exhibiting similar selfish behavior oneself, or to feel smug about demoralizing or shitting on people who seek to improve society somewhat.
As the meme itself implies, the exploitation class is the problem that needs to be addressed. No need for anyone else to catch strays.

While I am laid back, want food that I can’t have and eat rodents, he likes going out when it’s warm outside like some kind of weirdo.

Crime is only legal if there’s a war. Or if you’re a cop. Or are rich and influential.
Sireslyto World News@lemmy.world•UK police probe Bob Vylan's festival chants against Israeli military, as US revokes band's visasEnglish32·1 month agoThe inhuman madness of finding the problem regarding this situation to be protestors of Israel’s genocide, and not the genocide, is as absurd and abhorrent as it is overwhelming.
Let’s get outraged about and strive to cancel and imprison someone who used violent language at a force that is mass-murdering children. Just surreal. What leads someone to become this fucking detached from their humanity? It’s just incomprehensible.

Shut down all the governments until they know how to handle bags.
Sireslyto News@lemmy.world•A 2020 law banning plastic bags in Vermont has nearly eliminated their use in the state4·1 month agoThe only thing I think you really need plastic bags for is trash. Need to be able to compress and tie.
Plastic bags for groceries was always a stupid nonsense. Paper bags fit more stuff, are easier to pack and their handles don’t turn into string that garrote your hands. And obviously the reusable grocery bags are superior to both. Two of those will last me like five years before they start becoming dubious. Can’t remember the last time I carried groceries in a classic plastic bag. I associate that with the 90s. Can’t believe it’s still a thing in any grocery store anywhere.

You do not in fact have to give it to the Nazi scum. Any success or credit is due to the employees of the companies the inept pathetic narcissistic pro-fascism scumfuck is undeservedly running, often on fire and into the ground. If the resources he’s hoarding would be allocated by a reasonable, competent and humanist entity, we would all be much better off. Musk would be better off the planet. Shame that he missed this flight.
Sireslyto Technology@lemmy.world•Google is intentionally throttling YouTube videos, slowing down users with ad blockersEnglish9·2 months agoI’ve noticed occasional “buffering” before playback starts through the past week or so. Takes like ten seconds before the video starts playing. Hasn’t been worse than that so far, knock on wood.
Youtube feels like an impossible service to actually compete with, whether through the enormous and complicated setup required or amassing creators/users. It’s basically a monopoly and it sucks. One will just have to resist Google’s bullshit using whatever means available for as long as possible.
Nice beavers.
