Robovacs, AI, Apple Vision, RGB, trackers, etc.

This appears to be a live update thread. Not much stuff I’m interested in, but I guess we’ll see what comes out of it.

Drinking game idea… If you watch Linus Tech Tips, slam an entire beer each time they preview a device with AI in its name. Also, take a shot every time they preview a device with AI built in to it.

See you on the other side.

Let me guess: It’s all bigger and better and smarter than it was last year? And anything that isn’t had AI slapped on/in it along with everything else also getting AI.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Launching at CES 2024 in Las Vegas this week, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra has an (admittedly very small) arm that pushes the robot’s side brush out further to get into corners.

Samsung’s third-generation QD-OLED TV, the new S95D, comes with a unique trick compared to its predecessors: it’s got a glare-free display that the company claims all but eliminates any noticeable reflections.

Samsung’s The Frame TV has enjoyed huge success in recent years because it blends into the home in a way that’s much more aesthetically pleasing than the drab black rectangles you get from conventional TVs.

With customizable bezels (including stylish wood options), a matte screen, and a huge collection of renowned artwork that appears on The Frame’s display when it’s idle, it pulls off convincing double duty as a design piece.

From there, you can open any app with a camera — like FaceTime, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, or Microsoft Teams — and the dock will automatically shift the iPhone to keep you (or your subject) in frame when video chatting or filming.

The company’s latest gadget is the $249.95 BeamO, a so-called multiscope that measures your temperature, takes electrocardiograms, reads blood oxygen levels, and works as a stethoscope to monitor heart and lung health.

The original article contains 1,879 words, the summary contains 207 words. Saved 89%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

I don’t connect my “smart” TV to my network. I just plug in a Linux powered tiny form factor PC and use it as a large monitor and it’s AMAZING. This “smart” crap is totally f’ing stupid.
