Article by Reuters: A coalition of the right-wing PP and the fascist Vox parties has lifted most legal protections for LGBT+ people, legalising discrimination and abuse on the basis of sexual and gender identities.

“Under the reform, discriminating against workers on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity is no longer a punishable offence. It is also no longer a punishable offence to beat a person without causing injury on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity.”

“without injury” is probably defined so any physical attack that doesn’t have a broken bone or amputation, e.g. 99% of all assaults that are bruises, lacerations that bleed but heal, etc. wouldn’t be “injury”. So assaulting a stranger you don’t like the look of or beating your child who “isn’t right” is now not punishable.

Clearly freedom and righteousness’s heart grew 3 sizes this day.

        Psychopaths.

Rules for assault and domestic violence are a bit of a mess in Spain in general, there’s some things that just aren’t covered.

Democracy doesn’t need to be over thrown when you can just gradually throw it away

It’s worth noting that Madrid, having been the center of the Franco regime, has a right-leaning populace and the Vox party has pushed things further in a similar fashion to the Trumpistas in the US.

I believe this is lashing out because the central government is socialist and has made recent decisions which the fascists don’t like.

So you can legally beat us up there as long as you don’t “injure” us. A word which is subject to interpretation (at least in English, I don’t know how similar it is in Spanish) but I’m going to guess they mean “doesn’t require professional medical care”. And they label this as human rights being just “partially revoked”.
