!superbowl@lemmy.world has lots of cute owl pictures, and they recently did an ‘owl of the year’ bracket competition. I was rooting for the Blakiston Fish Owl, but the White Faced Scops Owl won in the end. Really positive bunch.
The various Tumblr communities are fairly active (curatedtumblr made the jump from Reddit, but there’s a generic one too).

Also internetfuneral made it, which is kind of low energy surreal shitposts.
Finally there’s an active Calvin and Hobbes community, which can be a nice palate cleanser to arrive once in a while.
