it’s very much borrowed from one of the reddit subs i frequent(ed) often, but the idea is to share what we’re playing weekly and hopefully create discussions around those games (or simply have a sort of “check-in”).
Factorio as always ^^
i’ve got a few friends who are addicted to this one, haha. it’s not for me, but it does look very interesting!
Do you play with mods? If so, which do you recommend? I think the last one I played was krastorio 2, which devoured a bunch of my free time
Depends on my mood, I do both. My favorite mod is krastorio 2, with the mods that the k2 people recommend along it. (Alien biomes etc).
I haven’t made it very far into space exploration, maybe it was too difficult for me or I didn’t like the balancing? I will try it again in the future.
I finished warptorio 2, it’s very cool, but you need a bit of Factorio experience for it I think. Also you need to warp manually all the time because it sends so many biters otherwise.
Also I made a bunch of videos of me playing vanilla Factorio recently: https://diode.zone/w/p/36k4bJzMFNJUro9sFcG3dX
I will have to keep playing that save ^^
If you’ve tried Satisfactory, how would you compare it to Factorio? I’ve found it to be a little easier to play in multiplayer, even if it isn’t as deep from an automation standpoint (but it’s still pretty deep).
I have played Satisfactory, I started with it when I didn’t even know about Factorio.
They’re very different games, especially after you get robots in Factorio. You don’t place buildings by hand anymore, but mostly blueprints etc. Setups should be able to scale. I have never built rail in Satisfactory, but I think they’re different too.
I enjoyed Satisfactory so much, but once I had seen it all it was quite dull and pointless for me. It’s not the same with Factorio, it’s so satisfying to do it all again, but with more knowledge of the game.
I enjoy the ability to just layer your factory higher and higher. One layer is my power generation level, base layer is just iron smithing and processing, and more complex machinery higher up. Still makes a lot of spaghetti the way I make it lol 🍝
Satisfactory is awesome, maybe I should start a new save :)
Satisfactory is enjoyable, but I missed the same challenge that I had in Factorio. The complexity and fight against the biters is quite something. Still, Satisfactory is very… satisfactory to move around in and great with friends as well. More chill I think.
Can’t seem to stop playing factorio, send help.
The factory must expand.
The factory must expand.
The factory must expand.
You still on vanilla, or have you started diving into Greg’s mods?
Still vanilla. I’ve only just started using logistic bots properly, converting the factory from centralised to modular production. I’ll give mods a try sometime soon but there’s so much possibility for expansion in the base game, who knows how long it’ll take.
Ugh I know the day I start Factorio is the day my life as I know it ends… not sure if I’m dreading it or looking forward to it
I installed the Space Exploration and Krastorio 2 mods and I haven’t even gotten to space yet on my year old save lol. It’s like Factorio x3 in difficulty.
Space exp seems pretty amazing. Before factorio I was mostly pouring time into dyson sphere program, it’s strangely similar.
At 1600 hours I’m just a beginner, but this game is so great.
<insert rookie numbers meme here>
more like cracktorio
Y’all got any more of that throughput?
Hades! It’s such a fun and addicting game. I am trying to 100% the game, so I have made a couple hundred escape attempts with no escapes as of yet.
Tears of the Kingdom, and when I get burnt out, either Persona 5 or Hitman III.
I’ve been playing TotK like it’s my second job since day 1, and I still don’t feel close to maxing out on its content. Breath of the Wild was my favorite game of all time, and somehow Tears of the Kingdom is even better.
Same here.
My 7 year old loves watching the gameplay as well. So when we need a break from this heat wave she tells me she wants to watch zelda. Been a ton of fun with her.So when shes around it’s main quest mostly. I would be ostracized if I did a temple without her.
When it’s just me I work on grinding out shrines or lightroots or armor upgrades usually.
I’m hundreds of hours into my Satisfactory factory. Working on bringing my final power plant online this weekend!
Working in the swamp, late at night
Just wouldn’t be a power plant without eerie green
Damn, my factory sucks ass next to this ^^
Humble beginnings my friend, we all started hand crafting iron rods and plates. This factory is my third, and this is about 400 hours in. At this stage you’re at the stage of “I enjoy this, right? I’m doing this for fun, right?”
I played up to the highest unlock, then didn’t finish the last elevator because there was no unlock to get ^^
Still, I never cared about what my factory looked like. Maybe that’s the problem.
There’s no problem at all lol, that’s one of the things I love, there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to play at all. We play because we must produce, the only way to play wrong is if you are not at peak efficiency.
And there’s totally an unlock! A small surprise at the awesome shop!
Tears of the Kingdom with my son! He is Mr. Random Adventure, while I tend to steer us to objectives. It’s a good combo.
that sounds like a lot of fun!
Tears of the kingdom, hehe. Might just play some splatoon 3.
I just got my Steam Deck and have loved playing through BoTW via CEMU with mods (playing as Linkle!)
Right now I am trying to get modded Skyrim going on my 64gb Steam Deck, since I haven’t played before and love fantasy settings!
Install a 1TB SSD in there, and fill it with mods. It’s pretty easy to upgrade yourself.
Oh when I can pick one up, I will!
But for now, the 64gb with a few hefty microSD’s is what I will be using
I still remember begging my parents to buy me Skyrim for the Xbox 360 during the launch of the game! That was almost 12 years ago! Oh my! I also remember watching this guy called Utorak and having his own rendition of the trailer.
Octopath Traveler 2, pretty challenging when getting to the later portion of the game.
I got Tears of the Kingdom for my birthday, so I’ve been enjoying that this week. I’m thinking about picking up Ozymandius on steam at some point for a nice 4X-Lite game.
Zelda-tears for me - it’s been out for 21 days and I’ve played for 70 hours @__@ but I feel like I haven’t really gotten far through the whole game, and I want it to last forever, it’s the best <3
I’m really enjoying it! Unfortunately, I’m back at work on Monday, so I’m not sure how much more I’ll get to play for a while.
System Shock! Felt like it’s been coming out forever and then suddenly just dropped. Amazing so far

Is it good to play casually? Very interested, but I hear there is a ton of back-tracking and it is faithful to the original a little too much?
I really enjoy it, but I love these types of games. There is backtracking when you’re obtaining items and unlocking doors and stuff, very similar to Prey. There’s a demo on steam to check out! Faithful to the original but in the right ways imo
Been thinking about picking up System Shock! Never played the originals but I can’t say no to a good immersive sim.
There’s a demo on steam! Idk how long it is but worth checking out
On the MMO side, Eve and FFXIV.
On the single player side, been playing some “Coffee Talk,” “Live A Live,” and “Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney” (via emulator), all on my Steam Deck.
Tears of the Kingdom, spending hours just making random stuff
Splatoon! The new season is out, so I’m looking forward to grinding my catalogue and getting used to the new stages. This season features a lot of Nintendo game consoles for your locker, like the “Intended Entertainment System”… love it.
Just finished Dusk yesterday and almost done with the first Sacred game. I’ve always liked it more than Diablo.
