gender affirming crippling loneliness
We need more representation for trans men ('cos they’re awesome)
Allegedly there are more transmascs than transfems in young people.
The gap between them closed. They are roughly equal now as opposed to transfems out numbering transmascs. Transphobes latched onto there being relatively more transmascs and use it as a talking point in support of their “theory” of social contagion.
damn, i didnt realise even trans spaces are hostile to trans mascs :< thats ass
IME trans spaces are kinda just low key hostile to men in general. Not in the way where everybody is hostile or anything, but if you pay attention you’ll notice that misandrists get away with a wild amount of shit slinging in trans spaces as compared to most other flavors of bigotry being policed quickly and harshly
My experience is that it’s generally worse when in the milieu of an institution (e.g. university, larger orgs) or anywhere power imbalance is structural. That there are more examples of good in independent spaces.
I’m not much of a gender expressionist so maybe it doesn’t translate to a transmasc exp.
It’s more that many spaces lean heavily transfem, so it’s hard for transmascs to relate or feel represented
And sometimes the high prevalence of transfems in certain spaces leads to people accidentally doing things like she/her’ing everyone by default.
Lmao I’ve almost done this with my friends
I would gladly give any transmasc homies a hug so they don’t feel lonely! you’ll are absolutely awesome and deserve all the love!
I know a place in Oregon
no way?
Pretty good scene in Portland.
Online sure, but offline it’s sometimes in reverse
Not trans here, but please don’t become an incel, a transmasccel, or whatever!
You do know what the word involuntary means… right?
one need not have sex to avoid being an incel, nor does having sex really change a person
Why male in quotation marks. Just why.
I read it as emphasis (since the text is also all caps)
Agreed, that seems wrong and misgendery.
No it’s referring to the “male loneliness epidemic”
Then why is only male in quotes?
Because there is a loneliness epidemic, but its not centred on males
Thanks for explaining!
The poster is a trans man and I think it’s them feeling validated as male, that’s how I read it
Do you mean the OP in this thread because if so we’re pretty sure that’s not the case.
If you mean within the context of the pictures, sure.
No its like when a trans femme gets objectified by shitty men and ignired in meetings for the first time.
As if that was an experience only offered to women
Sure, and women+nb’s can be lonely but…
