    That sounds terrifying. I often fear losing a special interest too soon. and now feeling that fear with a person would be so much worse.

      I get that. Like I’ve said elsewhere, long-term relationships require comfortable familiarity. This familiarity may or may not occur regardless of what we do, and some relationships just aren’t meant to work forever.

    Only works until someone gets a new special interest and you become a boring old toy who won’t shut up or go away

    Love is permanent, special interests aren’t
