it took me until YESTERDAY to figure out you have to use recoilless rifle on the leviathans

A new one would spawn so fast that I gave up shooting them down and just ignored them. Sure the occasional ragdoll was annoying, but it wasn’t worth taking the time to shoot each one down

They will be super annoying on more open maps that don’t have all the buildings to cover you

I unloaded so many recoilless rifle rounds into a single Leviathan. No matter which weakspot I hit, it never went down. Hell, I’ve hit them with the orbital cannons multiple times, and still never had an effect. Their armor needs a heavy rework. Honestly they are the most bullshit vehicle enemy I have dealt with yet after 300 hours of play. I’ve just given up, and run away from them now. Don’t think that’ll go so well on the less-populated cities, where there aren’t skyscrapers to block their line of sight- so I guess I’ll deal with that issue when it presents itself.

You either have to hammer the main neck joint, or you expose a weak point with anti tank (wings, engine rings) and then heavy pen can follow up. Keep hitting the exposed area, and they’ll drop within 6 recoilless rounds, 4 spears, ~10-14 anti tank shells, or 2 recoilless and whatever you follow up with.

They aren’t really worth the fight, but we’ll see what the future holds.

Disappointing that they didn’t ensure that more heavy weapons were similarly effective on the leviathans.

Agreed. I was furious when I hit a Leviathan with the anti-orbital objective cannon a few times, and it was still flying around rag-dolling me constantly. God I hate those fuckers.

Even if not a 1 shot, it should at least be 1 shot to de-armor it, and 1 shot to kill. Pumping 4 rounds in to one, just for it to keep flying around was not fun.

The spear can actually take them out in a backpack salvo or 2

Those landscapes will get back, I can’t see them spending all that time and effort on modeling skyscrapers just to ditch them after two weeks

Cannot wait to get back to the bot front, but I will miss the absolute chaos that is the defend against landing craft mode. Captured the sci-fi Aliens invade trope perfectly

Repel enemy fleet was the only mission I felt truly challenged on. Holy shit. If you lose momentum for a second you’re instantly fighting uphill
