    Two of my kids, one of whom is trans and her wife (also trans) moved to Vancouver, Washington in December. The plans went into effect after the election. My youngest is also trans and he is going to follow them after saving up some more money.

    I will feel so much better after they are all out of the shit hole state of Texas.

      Looking at my options here; assuming you’re living in illinois from that comment, how safe is it? is it just relatively blue in general, or just in the city?

      I’m currently in Ohio and its pretty damned red and i hate it. The casual awfulness people will spout to a complete stranger frankly disgusts me on occasion

        I don’t live there but I know they’re a blue trifecta and is one of the cheapest progressive states that has decent protections for trans folks.

        Rural southern Illinois is red af. Basically Indiana lite. Chicago is safe. Don’t know much about other parts.
