    When I saw that you were looking for moderators, I just had a feeling that Dandelion would end up involved for some reason. She seems like a great person and also someone who I have multiple informative comments saved from, which means that she’s an active participant of the community, which is one of the best kinds of moderators you’ll get. So I think you made an excellent choice here and congrats to Dandelion.

      Yes she really is! I’m lucky all the applicants were really strong, but Dandelion is already doing an excellent job.

        She’s certainly got her work cut out for her though lol. Scrolling through a couple of posts from the last few days, I see a LOT of ‘removed by moderator’ comments. It’s not really funny but it’s been kinda making me laugh anyway. I wonder how long it’ll take before people know about this community and get it.

          Yep it goes like that some days. We’re pretty ruthless with it because we get manosphere types coming in trolling cos we’re women (ugh) and trans inclusive (oh no!).

            I don’t know if it’s just my imagination but I feel like I’ve noticed a couple of people around Lemmy in general over the last couple of weeks that aren’t here in good faith. That’s the thing with these right wing types. They took over Facebook and Twitter and turned them into dumps but that’s enough for them. They have to follow the rest of us to the spaces where we go to try and get away from them.

            I’ve said this multiple times now but thank you (and Dandelion) for what you’re doing here. It’s a dirty job dealing with these assholes so that the rest of us don’t have to. And it seems like this community is definitely growing now. About a month ago, you were posting 99% of the content here and looking at it now, it’s busier than ever!

                Yeah of course it’s not all bad. Most people are here in good faith. And hopefully once these early waves of manly men are dealt with and blocked etc, it’ll get less and less and not so easy to notice all the removed comments (although you’ll probably never be 100% free of it).

    Dandelion already seems really nice from the past 20 minutes I’ve had talking to her. Great choice.
