the label and the manufacturer of my een say not to expose it to light. what happens if it is? last week i did my injection, but forgot about the warning and was holding it up near my bathroom light while i drew the needle. is it still safe/effective? tonight’s my next shot, probably should have asked sooner :P
edit: only realized my mistake after finishing the injection and noticing the label had turned red

edit 3: got a pretty quick reply from the manufacturer. label turning red/black is normal actually, from heat/moisture, which makes sense. also according to the manufacturer, the e is slightly pink: normal for mct oil when exposed to light, but as long as it doesn’t get worse it should be fine.

a bathroom light is a bulb, not the sun, and at most might heat the vial (which happens when the vials are made, a one time heating should be fine).
The concern is about sunlight, not all forms of light. The problem is that UV light from the sun can denature the chemicals (just like it can give people skin cancer).
Disclaimer: I have no experience with this drug class, and my medical knowledge is that of a novice.
“Don’t expose it to light” typically means “don’t leave it in the sun too long.”
These warnings usually mean that the chemical will denature / break down when exposed to light or heat which leads to a decrease in efficacy. Most chemicals will only do this in response to IR or UV light. If the reaction is from IR, then the primary worry is keeping it cool enough. By the nature of indoor lights, your bathroom light is almost certainly not emitting enough UV to cause a reaction.
If the drug is colored (I don’t believe this to be the case here), then visible light could cause a reaction, though I would still find it unlikely that a drug would lose sufficient efficacy due to a bathroom light.
I wouldn’t worry unless it got too warm for too long.
I can’t say anything about the label turning red without a bit more info about the container itself (is it just a vial?), but it sounds like it might be an indicator that you took your last dose.

its fine, just dont keep it exposed to light for extended periods of time, it can cause the oil to go rancid quicker

um pretty sure! unless my hands stained it lol. i think maybe they made the label reactive to light so you know when it went bad? i honestly don’t know. gonna have to contact the manufacturer but that’s gonna take weeks for a reply :(
Did you get rubbing alcohol on it? Ive seen reactions to labels with similar splotchy-ness from rubbing alcohol, but not the color: the color could just be something from the label maker used for it.
