My mother sneezes when she’s full. So when there’s an occasion where people tend to overeat, everyone in the house knows when she reached capacity. It’s like barking.

For a while we had a shelter cat who came to us at a later point in his live. And whatever happened to him in the past: when someone sneezed he meowed (not like cute little meow but the ones with the scrungy face). These two gave quite a show every evening, like a very weirs, loud and kinda angry duet

My darling old aunt used to sneeze so loud that it would jump scare me on the floor above, while gaming, with headphones. It sounded like lightning crashing down. I miss my Aunt…

I basically force the sneeze through my front teeth and it kinda works most of the time. Taught myself how when I noticed a girl I sat next to in school sneezed almost silently and I thought it was super cute. Now, coughing and throat-clearing on the other hand… Sounds like I’ve lived my whole life in a coal mine…

My lovely, beautiful wife usual scares the shit out of me when she sneezes. I have never heard any man go as loud, ever. Some people just have amazing lung capacity and vocal chords!

my larynx goes up high when I sneeze and usually I sound pretty cute, this was actually a problem for me pre-transition

coughing on the other hand, is harder - I always want to open my chest and lungs and cough deeply, which uh, sounds not feminine

Yeah it’s not for fun, or to intentionally annoy others in public spaces. Those loud sneezes are just the default for how it comes out for some people. Personally I always try to sneeze directly into my elbow, both for sanitary reasons, and also to be less loud in public.

I generally get zero warning for sneezes, and they are always powerful; I’m usually dazed for a good 5-10 seconds after, and trying to hold it back can cause full body aching and pain (or it might hurt even if i don’t, sometimes). 😕

Id love it if my entire head wasn’t dysfunctional. Deviated septum, tinnitus, photosensitivity + astigmatism, severe year round allergies/excessive mucus production, giant head too big for most hats. At least my teeth aren’t bad i guess?
