in 2010s they would pretend to be against Trump 1 and say stuff like “if they touch Roe v Wade, that’s when I’ll start burning it down” and “nazi puncher, punch nazis”

they largely did not take to the streets or burn it down in 2022 if you recall

(Except you, Jane. Thank you, Jane.)

yeah, seeing how everyone suddenly went to the streets after seeing their 401K tank was surely disturbing. like, the world could be burning, innocent civilians could be starved and bombed to death and then cremated or put in a mass grave, and foreign governments can be toppled, and people shrug it away. But as soon as their asset portfolio is attacked, that’s when it suddenly matters. Such a disgusting disregard for everything but the self.

Tell me again why socialism is bad for - not you - society (targeted towards folk who think socialism is demonic or smth)

I knew a guy that showed up to a George Floyd protest with a sign that just said “vote blue”. Like, somehow a dem in office would have stopped that murderous cop.

    The liberal mind…

I’ve told this story before, but I’ll never forget demonstrating alongside liberals against the border camps, who then completely switched gears and defended Biden funding even more concentration camps once he took office. They only pretend to care when it’s politically convenient for their Party.

I like this analogy because it recognizes that we’d still be toast with a Democrat, but the avocado would make it more palatable for people who can afford to ignore atrocities amongst domestic marginalized groups and people in the global south, which is exactly what happened for 4 years under Biden

It’s an atrocity when it’s the other guy, but it’s business as usual if it’s our guy.

waay too many people look at politics like a football game, where it’s just about cheering for “their” team.

I initially read that as “We’d be brunch today”, which I guess is accurate. Don’t worry, I have since found the @ and been appropriately disappointed.

Thanks - had to zoom to see it. This is like when people were getting used to text speak (abbreviating words b/c it simply took too long to type with a numpad) but only abbreviated one or two words.

I missed that too when I first saw this lol

Without the “@” it might make sense because we’d still be cooked
