Mine was scrumpy jack cider too! I got a glass “keg” for my mates house party, and then basically drank the whole thing myself nervously as I had no idea how to talk to people that I didn’t know

US Army, winter 1996. Just got onto base, pretty fresh from BASIC. I open my barracks door and McBride (RIP brother) says “Here, drink this!” with his devlish grin, blocking my entry and holding a shot glass of some clear liquid. 18-year-old private me swigged it down and nearly choked on the shot.
“WTF is this?”, I asked, gasping and choking.
“Everclear!” he said joyfully, moving away from the door while I gagged, challenge completed.
I passed his…test?.. and I was in the friend group.

I’ve done a shot of it before, once or twice. The whole body feels like it’s trying to scream in fear at once for a moment, but your mouth is too stunned by the violence that’s been done to your palate that you just stand there for a moment waiting to see if you die. Then once the feeling passes, you are fully buzzed and for about ten minutes you know how Dionysus feels all the time.
The only sensible thing to do with it is sanitise lab equipment.

Not sure if this counts as it was “friend” not “friends”.
I was in college and a friend of mine who I grew up with had her mom’s house to herself for 4th of July weekend so she threw a party. No alcohol at the party, but I was invited to stay after the party ended with just her.
She brought out the alcohol she had purchased from a friend who knew someone old enough to buy liquor. There were a few different bottles, but I mostly remember a large plastic bottle of Joaquin’s white rum that we mixed with orange juice. It was terrible.
We had sex that night for the first time. Been together well over a decade and married for close to a decade.

With friends? some Belgian beers I swiped from my parents and shared with my friends. I think it was Westmalle Dubbel.
