This article is so long! Why does it have to be about Roseanne Barr? What comes to mind (after reading her Wikipedia Page) is that she is capable of making really out of touch jokes. Is there anything else?
Why did you post it if you dont even know who she is? Everyone even moderately conscious of life during the last trump admin should know who she is. Everyone over 40 definitely knows who she is. But you don’t, and yet you chose to repost an article you don’t understand about a person you don’t know. What’s wrong with you?

I enjoyed the article because I enjoyed how absurd it sounded. The joke about Illiteracy dawned on me very slowly, and I’m not from the US and don’t know much about Roseanne Barr. Even reading her Wikipedia article didn’t really seem to help. I then reposted the article basically hoping someone would explain the joke to me. I’m of course not being paid to do that. Though I have registered that the joke about illiteracy is actually there now, I have only gotten little other information, like that “Roseanne Barr is basically a hyper mega MAGA Karen” (sp3ctr4l@lemmy.zip, 2025), and that this appears to be a somewhat recent development in her world view. I’m starting to believe there isn’t much more to it.

She’s led or headlined or featured in a good number of Trump rallies / Republican functions… she’s a rascist bigot and anti lgbtq… she is a delusional christian nationalist who believes there is a vast global conspiracy to create a global muslim caliphate and implement sharia law literally everywhere… she has literally declared her unwavering faith in Trump as dear leader.

… Also there is a rather funny video where RFK Jr is recounting the insane story of him dumping a bear carcass in NYC’s central park, where rosie is very obviously disgusted and dismayed by this, and barely manages to only slightly grimace and stare in horror.
Oh right, she also used to play a mom in some shitty sitcom that ran in the 90s, serving as an inspiration to white christian moms whose children have gone no contact with them in the 2020s, but hey, at least they’ve got a lot of ‘live laugh love’ posters framed on their walls.
