There seems to be a bit of PLA in the screw hole of the hotend, probably from a previous clog, and that is preventing me from unscrewing it. Any tips?

Thanks, I was just worried that it could damage the hotend if I were to unscrew it while hot.

As long as your thermistor or heater block doesn’t fall out you should be fine. But if you want to be safe, just set it to 200 and then turn it off before you unscrew it so that it won’t thermal runaway if it comes apart while working on it.

Cigarette lighter and a small nail/pin. Heat it up and scrape out what you can. Heat the nail and print head.

Little kitchen blow torch / jet lighter for better effect.
