I have been filling out applications recently and one place wanted me to download a mobile app that would record camera and microphone stuff while I filled out the application

For what it’s worth my company (a small-medium software company) still do pretty normal three stage person-to-person zoom interviews that actually test your capabilities to do the job we hire for.
I run some of them myself.
