    sounds like an origin story told from the perspective of the villain after he has defeated the hero and it paints a very dark present for the United States and an even gloomier future

      What he’s going through isn’t rare for parents of trans people. But that doesn’t excuse it. Good parents learn to love the child they have not the one they thought they had. Musk meanwhile is making damn sure he never can earn his daughter’s love back

        It’s characteristic of right-wingers that they refuse to learn from experience, to reflect on it and change their attitudes, and generally to grow as people. They cling tightly to the prejudices they start our with, and by which they define themselves, and demand that the world stop changing. It’s a losing strategy, but they grow ever more bitter, angry and dangerous as reality continues to frustrate them.
