Without meaning this as a defense of Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine: go check .world mod history, every other deleted comment is “Russian troll” or “disinformation” or equivalents. If you defend a policy of censoring points of view more charitative to Russia than western narratives be open about it, it’s fine, just be aware that you’re actually doing it

What is fine about censorship and banning ‘unwanted’ news sources?
People aren’t allowed to make up their own mind?
I have posted plenty of facts that got removed bcs it didn’t fit the US narrative.
There is plenty to say on the violent US instigated coup of 2014 and the horrible war commited by the Banderite regime for 8 years.
Somehow the MSM didn’t care and even whitewashed them later.
Mentioning that is not ‘Russian propaganda’.
I don’t like Putin, compareds to the US he is by far the lesser evil.
People refuse to see the manufactured consent and almost totalitarian information control.

I don’t defend the uncritical banning of non pro-western outlets or viewpoints carried out by .world mods, I’m asking them that if they ban comments for it, they should be open about it and admit that they will censor non-pro-western voices.

            OK, I agree.
Even then, it’s much worse on other social media where you getpermabanned for the slightest.

While I agree, the discussion in other instances like .ml or hexbear is much more nuanced IMO (plenty of critical voices against Russia too, just not based on US State Dept. propaganda)

ironically that was the first instance I got banned from for not supporting the Banderites.
And the same for hexbear when I pointed out ableism and how moronic it was to shit on “the boomers” and treat them as a monolith and smearing them all as Trumpers and cause of all problems.
As if they didn’t fight harder for civil rights and actually did something instead of the so-called moral high ground generations (factially voting massively more for right wing parties everywhere) being on the frontlines by changing their avatar, having a one day boycott of products or other low effort lukewarm virtue signaling BS.

Putin suckers of every calibre, including “not everything is this clear cut” motherfuckers should be shut as diligently as nazis. Their “viewpoints” are harmful and should be censored.

I wouldn’t know what that is.
And restrictive is a euphemism here in this circle jerk of manufactured consent and overcensoring
