Pelosi and her trades, not only get featured regularly on Unusual Whales, but there’s an entire subreddit following her stock trades. Schumer and Jefferies are of the same cloth. In it for themselves.
The rot goes to the very top.
Three good people, willing to stand up to this admin, is not enough to change the course of the DNC. Frankly I wish they would yeet Jill Stein into fucking space and take the green party. I’d definitely vote for them.
This is entirely true. The Democrats are silent and have abandoned the people.
The left’s “Tea Party” moment is far, far overdue.
I mean, wouldn’t a lot of the corporate democrats gain from a Trump presidency? Just sit back and get those tax cuts. Then they can just retire as the world burns.
They’re not offering any serious opposition because they’re not seriously opposed to it. Sure, they would prefer a neoliberal technocracy, but they’ll settle for plutocracy, especially if it prevents any kind of true democracy from taking hold.
Why would a party owned by tech billionaires try to stop a coup by tech billionaires?
They will burn this country down, before they’d consider doing anything to upset the megadonors.
Most of them are complicit in this. Their opposition is feigned or bought.
Also, robots are stealing our luggage
More accurate headline: “Democratic Leaders Doing What They Always Do”
And why wouldn’t they? You all aren’t going to vote them out.
I would vote them out if one of you self-righteous progressive fuckers would set foot outside the door and RUN for once.
But ya don’t. Then you bitch about it.
- Running for office costs money, something the people who favor progressive polices often don’t have
- Running for office takes time, something to take away from a job to pay for food and bills, and family and hobbies
- And let’s not pretend as soon as they gain ground AIPAC and the DNC won’t colude with them and snuff out any primaries where the progressive has a chance at winning against an established Democrat in office.
I’ve been considering running for office myself due to the fact a Democrat hasn’t won here in at least 20 years. I’d probably mask myself as a Republican but use leftist ideas as a reverse dog whistle. Republicans win on the local level here above 60%. Kevin McCarthy was from here, he only left office by choice, not because he had to fear contest.
“I don’t think the government should have a say what happens in the home of an American family. If they are in this country they are doing it for the freedoms our founding fathers wanted. What happens in the privacy of an American home stays in the American home.”
“Yes I think the second amendment is important, and I would remove restrictions on timing of purchase and ammo, so the people who are threatened in every day life have a chance at stopping the ones who want to hurt them. Education and mental health are equally as good as a safety switch.”
“I don’t think some out of touch big wig CEO gets to decide how a company is ran. More people are on the shop floor than the stockholder’s floor. They understand how the daily operations work better than the CEO, why does the CEO get to decide to fire a worker because it was cheaper than keeping them around?”
“The way we secure America’s future is by secure the future of America’s children. Quality education and healthcare. Inspiring them to build the next space shuttle program. Helping the mothers of those children get what they need to live while working and supporting that family. Ensuring that the next generation won’t be the last by helping every generation. It takes a village to raise a child, it takes a country to raise a generation.”
And other such “patriotic” bullshit but with an actual meaningful good things behind it, unlike Republicans.

Also holding office takes time that isn’t necessarily paid. Depends on the position of course, but most meaningful politics is local, and often city council, school board, etc aren’t paid positions. (This is why there’s such a grifter problem in small town politics - if you’re not making money as a member of the library board, why not cut a deal under the table? Of course, in my state that goes up to the gubernatorial level - my governor is banned from practicing real estate in a couple states and benefiting quite well from turnpike scams)
Also, if you are any form of minoritized group, you’ll have to deal with some nasty shit. (I volunteered on a city council campaign where the opponent sent a last minute, vile, illegal mailer outing the candidate as a lesbian. She lost.)
It’s a lot of time, a lot of effort, you’re going to have to deal with shitty people (and annoying ones like myself). It’s really clear why the kinds of people you don’t want in politics are very set up to end up in it - if you’re rich, have no moral qualms, and don’t feel particularly arsed to show up to the job half the time anyway (really popular grift here is holding multiple full time paid elected/appointed positions) - then why not buy a bunch of mailers, blanket the town with paid canvassers, and take an easy route to power?
I don’t think either party would want you.
To the Republicans I’m impossible to vote for as I have a conscience to not hurt people and I’m queer.
To the Democrats I’m impossible to vote for as I want to not give any compromises to fascists and their capitalist rulers.
Makes sense neither would like me, but I been told running for third party is also a waste.
Doing something is better than doing nothing, and you have my vote, comrade (if voting is still allowed).
Do you not remember what the dnc did to sanders twice? Also the reality is that America is blatantly exhibiting 13 of 14 traits of fascism in both parties. One more so than the other but if you think that the last one being fraudulent elections, is some sacred line that the rich and elected officials who promised to uphold the constitution while wiping their ass with it will never cross because of HURR DURRR Democracy, well you’re not just naive you are plain stupid.
oooo edgy today are we.
Technology has provided the wealthy the tools to subvert elections with plausible deniability while their owned media outlets manufacture our consent.
These issues will not ever be solved at the ballot box.
always yelling “the Democrats should do something!” but never saying for example what…
interest groups were mad at Senate democrats so the Senate Dems started filibustering everything they can (all confirmations are not subject to filibuster), and forcing the longest delays possible for all confirmations by using all of their speaking time.
did the whining jagoffs say, “finally thank you for at least doing something!” No. They just keep accusing Democrats of not doing enough.
figure it out
I’m done listening to this crap. Democrats are doing what they can with the incredibly limited power they have.
Which shines a light on the real problem.
In most elections we have a shitty option. And a shittier option.
Everyone is letting murica die with a whimper!
