Repost, since apparently a lot of people haven’t internalized this: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/21216426

Not aimed at this community in particular; just the overall trend in discussion on the Fediverse in general.

Maybe you were put off by the… unique site design, but consider that Greg Palast has been doing this kind of work and getting ignored since the 80s(!). He’s talked about voter suppression since 2008 at least. He probably knows that looking ‘professional’ doesn’t matter anymore, because MSM will never give him his due.

Lots of people consciously don’t vote, for reasons you may disagree with. They are not the reason we lost this election. Please, let’s stop eating our own allies alive.

While the article is right to point this out, compare that to the amount of people who potentially could have but did not vote. Abstaining from casting your vote IS silent approval of the outcome.

I don’t know if this is representative of the article:

Lots of people consciously don’t vote, for reasons you may disagree with. […] Please, let’s stop eating our own allies alive.

… but I don’t need allies who never lift a finger. Near as I can tell, that makes me their ally, but not the other way around.
