U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would create a White House faith office and direct Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead a task force on eradicating what he called anti-Christian bias within the federal government.

Trump delivered remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast at the U.S. Capitol and used his speech to call for “unity”, telling lawmakers his relationship with religion has “changed” after a pair of failed assassination attempts last year.

Seems a little like state sponsored religion. Now, call me crazy, but I think the Constitution said something on that topic. Not that that matters anymore.

More like it’ll happen anyway and then there will be a lawsuit that pauses the office for a week, and nothing will happen further because of trump judges in higher courts.

Wonder how long I’ve got to convert before I get sent to a re-education camp

Didn’t he not swear on the bible, have multiple affairs and regularly fuck over (and murder) thy neighbor?

Details schmetails… At the end of the week he is probably super duper repenting and asks for forgiveness. What, you want a perfect human? Who hasn’t murdered someone on a bad week? Or raped? Or stolen? Or had an affair? Or all of it?

Hopefully not needed but just to be sure /s

He’s never admitted he’s wrong about anything. He always denies everything or blames someone else. The buck stops somewhere else

Never let a bad assassination attempt go to waste. Imagine being sent back in time to stop hitler and giving him a shot in the ear.

Passed on September 25, 1789, and ratified December 15, 1791, the First Amendment reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Enough people voted for him or didn’t bother to show up and vote at all for him to get there, I don’t know where these enlightened generations you speak of are.

Of course the ones who are already brainwashed will love religion being imposed on everybody because that’s how it works. Those people probably voted for Trump or not at all. Plenty of young people didn’t vote for Trump and despise him, same as any other demographic. Imposing religion on these people won’t work. The rate of non-believers has skyrocketed over the last several decades. Doubt it has ever been higher. Nothing the Republicans do will make them suddenly believe in this trash. Will only make them hate religion even more.
