Summary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tore into Tucker Carlson for calling him a “dictator,” accusing him of repeating Vladimir Putin’s propaganda.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Zelensky dismissed claims of suppressing opposition and defended Ukraine’s paused elections as necessary under martial law.

Criticizing Carlson’s pro-Kremlin rhetoric, he fumed, “It seems to me he needs to more deeply understand what’s happening in Ukraine, to stop working for Putin, to stop licking his ass.”

Zelensky insisted Ukraine is fighting to preserve democracy, not undermine it.

Politics as entertainment keeps hitting new levels. A comedian-turned-president telling a journalist-turned-propagandist to stop brown-nosing an ex-KGB agent? Peak 2025 content right there.

The martial law argument’s interesting—technically correct but conveniently timed. Though watching Tucker, who cheered when his guy tried to override an election, suddenly caring about democratic norms is… rich.

Zelensky’s crude response plays well for headlines, but it’s the same social media politics we’ve been drowning in. Two media personalities trading barbs while real policy discussions happen in backrooms and procurement meetings.

Meanwhile, defense contractors keep posting record profits. Funny how that works.

On an interview with Piers Morgan no less, amazing. I don’t think Morgan and Carlson get along that well, but they’re positioned similarly enough in the general media landscape that there’s probably a meaningfully non-zero audience shared between them

People forget he’s a comedian with media training. I think the more clown show the right wing media make this, all the better for him. Slava Ukraini

It’s worth noting that psychopaths aren’t deterred by shame or guilt, and usually the truth takes too long to explain to the masses…

… But mockery, humiliation, embarrassment really get to these folks because they have excessive vanity and self-esteem issues.

Remember when Putin banned images of him as a gay clown?

I don’t think anyone truly appreciated how funny he was until he ordered the entire Russian military to be roasted

The visual I just got of Tucker Carlson licking Vladimir Putin’s asshole is… not my favorite way to wake up. 🤣😁🤢

Three years ago all media was licking Zelensky’s ass. Now he’s furious because one “journalist” is doing Putin instead.

EDIT: I’m not gonna answer to violent replies as these (they are all blocked anyway). Just search images of “Zelensky cover” if you are really interested, and you’ll see how he was Time’s person of the year, The Economist cover, Vogue,'s Vanity Fair’s, Wired’s, etc. It’s not a dispute. Zelensky was the favorite person of the media when Russia invaded years ago. I didn’t say much more than that.
