Performative cruelty.
Readers will be aware of the recent push for early release of prisoners by Starmers government , to ease the overcrowding situation.
Not so for the climate protester.
Shame on Starmer and a plague on his house .
It’s the same here. When farmers were blocking motorways and lighting tire fires politicians were falling over themselves to appease them. But when environmental protests do it it’s police in riot gear for you.
Sounds like that should be the states problem, not hers. If she eligible and approved, she should go home. If the state wants constant monitoring, then they can figure out another way.
If she dies in prison, it will serve as a warning to others.
