Throughout the Fallout series, there have been many different depictions of Combat Armor. Please discuss which was your favorite.

I really like the Fallout 3/NV combat armor, with the rounded look and big shoulders.
Especially the Van Graff’s customized version, in black.
Fallout 3’s design is a nice, realistic look, although the sleeveless arms always looked a bit goofy to me. It will always hold a special place in my heart though, since Fallout 3 was my first.
Personally, my favorite depiction probably has to be the winterized combat armor from the Operation Anchorage DLC, which finds a neat balance between the sleekness of the classic Fallout designs and the more realistic modular look found in later games.
I love the OG combat armor from fallout 1 and 2, but I also like the NCR Ranger combat armor.
edit: Like this:
I’ve gotta say, the OG combat armor really nails the whole ‘retrofuture’ style, I think I’ve just got a fondness for the grit of Adamowicz’ designs. And honestly, who doesn’t love the NCR Veteran Ranger armor, I had to stop myself from using it as the image just to not taint the discussion.
retrofuture
exactly, fallout 1/2 felt amazing in that regard. the newer games kind of fail at that. Fallout 4/76 try to be more retro, but nothing bests the originals. They’re masterpieces (especially fallout 2 lmao)
Truly, I don’t think the designs of the Advanced Power Armor and the M72 Gauss Rifle will ever leave my mind. It’s a real shame we won’t get to see that style again as the series continues.
It’s a shame we won’t get games on the west coast again at all. I loved fallout 2’s enclave and it’s humor lol
east coast games are always undeveloped as shit and too serious, fnv, f01-2 are way better imo
It’s hard to describe how formative the theme of progress between the west coast games was to my interests, which is something the east coast games sorely lack. There’s a little hope though that the new TV show could give closure, if nothing else for the west. (Even with it’s own questionable choices.)

simple, bethesda didn’t develop FnV, fo1 and fo2 :) they just published them.
It’s kind of annoying even after centuries at most the east coast managed to build a shack™ but the west coast built entire cities.
Shortly after the release of the TV show I realized that Fallout won’t ever be what I hoped for again, and I’ve made my peace with the fact that it’s going in it’s own direction now. But I’d be damned if I didn’t still yearn for what those older games had. Still haven’t found something to fill that void. (Though a copious Fallout modding hobby certainly has helped me see a Fallout with some of those problems resolved.)
