Summary

Vivek Ramaswamy, co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump, is expected to step down to launch a campaign for Ohio governor.

Sources report friction between Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, and incoming DOGE staff, with Musk’s team criticizing his lack of participation and subtly encouraging his exit.

“Vivek has worn out his welcome,” one Trump associate said.

DOGE, a task force to streamline federal bureaucracy, is not a formal agency.

I don’t know, Bobby Jindal got elected and so did Nikki Haley.

Of course, they changed their names to something that sounded less exotic to American ears.

I am not cool with that actually. People have a right to use whatever names for themselves they choose. If that applies to trans people, which it does, it also applies to cis people.

If she wants to be Nikki Haley, fine.

Interesting you compare Nimarata’s attempt to cover her origins so she can be more appealing to her conservative audience to the dead names of trans people. I guess you’re saying it’s totally cool to identify as a different race when it works in your favor. Personally, I think such comparisons are an insult to trans people.

No, I think people are allowed to change their names and other people should respect their chosen identities.

I assume you don’t talk about President Leslie Lynch King Jr. despite the fact that he changed his name to Gerald Ford because it sounded more manly, right? Who cares why people change their name?

The whole point is that this should be a universal acceptance thing.

No it isn’t. Self-identity is self-identity. Why should someone be an exception just because they’re horrible? Caitlyn Jenner is a Trump supporter and killed a person. Should we call her Bruce?

It’s not noon yet Trump isn’t in charge and the DOGE is already coming apart at the seams.

Has the token brown MAGA finally realized his new buddies are using him to prove they’re not racists, and now that Trump won, he’s not needed anymore?

I almost guarantee you that Vivek thinks he’s white. I have met more than one (wealthy) South Asian-American who literally consider themselves white and are just mystified when people react to them with racism because they’re white. One old family friend who’s family was from Sri Lanka was absolutely incensed that he couldn’t say he was white on his passport.

I don’t get it, but that is apparently not uncommon.

He’s running for governor of Ohio. God damn that poor fucking state. I mean really I know they deserve it to some extent cuz they keep voting for these people, but they have just some of the worst most soul-crushing politicians the last 30 years I’ve ever seen

Two people can’t run the same bureau.

You’d think there would be some government agency whose purpose it is to identify redundancies like that…

Great, let’s just leave it all up to Elon. What could possibly go wrong?

The only thing worse than 2 billionaires leading an unregulated government entity is a single billionaire leading it. Giving Elon completely unchecked power.

      It’s not a government entity.

I don’t think it even exists. We all know Elon doesn’t do any actual work beyond tweeting and giving the engineers his latest harebrained idea. Have they started hiring staff? Office space? Anything to prove they exist at all?

It’s about to be. That’s going to be one of Trump’s first executive orders apparently. That and declaring an emergency on the border with Mexico and canceling the Green New Deal.

Stupider, yes, but they seem to have learned one thing - fire all the competent people and replace them with lackeys who won’t try to interfere with implementing your intrusive thoughts simply because they’re illegal or pointless or impossible to do.

The last bunch were stupid too. People made fun of Hitler’s sub-literate use of German and his lack of education. Most of his flunkies were dimwits too. It didn’t stop them committing wars of aggression, mass murders and genocide, though.

The odd exception was Mussolini, who was a journalist and novelist prior to becoming the gurning bullet-headed thug he was later famous for being. And, if we’re talking about psychopathic shit-sacks in general and not just fascists, Stalin was an award-winning poet before finding his vocation as mass murderer and totalitarian despot.
