The election, the CEO murder, etc.
And when I tried to say something about it, I get downvoted, and get replies that I am a bootlicker or something etc.
Oh yeah, also, Lemmy discussion is very one-sided and lacks nuance.
I have more things to say, but I prefer sleeping. That’s all
Use block community. I do it all the time now even for things I like.
For example I like an occasional cat photo but my lemmy.world page was nothing but cat photos for a week.
I’ve got 1322 communities blocked myself 😂. Still plenty of content to view using either the ‘all’ feed or my front page.
I also use filters a bunch, which helps with stuff like excessive posts about certain creeps in tech or getting spammed with quasi-duplicate posts across multiple communities that I otherwise want to see content from.
Got a few instances blocked as well - seems like Lemmy has a pretty good set of tools to customize content.
I have 150+ communities blocker blocked
Sure it’s annoying but it’s a pure population distribution issue, same as for reddit, and unless more of your own countrymen are in here, it’s going to stay that way.
US Defaultism is a thing on the internet. I’ve seen it plenty here to the point of thinking of starting a USDefaultism community just to make fun of it all.
If it actually bothers you to the point of where you’re tired of seeing it, I’d recommend blocking (or filtering, depending on your Lemmy client) some US-centric communities or maybe even instances to bring some more balance in your feed.
Making a community just to make fun of a thing is possibly the most pathetic thing you could do.
Yeah, bad phrasing on my part, sorry. To have a laugh with it, would be a more fitting way to put it. Not necessarily at the expense of the person posting or anything.
Interested as well
Lemme know if you made one
Same feeling here.
I’ve been trying to channel people to !AskUSA@discuss.online
!asklemmy@lemmy.world banning questions about US politics is already helping
Good idea. We should compartmentalise the 4%ers
