It’s Sunday! I’m up early as our bedroom is currently five thousand degrees.

Joining the seemingly national rush to get washing done, hung out and dried before the rain sets in this afternoon. Off out for steak at one of the two restaurants my FIL will eat at later. At least the man knows what he likes.

Happy father’s Day - and my condolences… Same here (and I wouldn’t have it any other way) We are up since 6:15, do you think he remembered it’s father’s Day after all the excitement leading up to it? Obviously not 🤣

I have come to the conclusion that no one knows what the weather will do today. Met Office are predicting downpours and thunderstorms but the app (for Bristol) is saying it will be cloudy or partially cloudy all day. Other apps give a similar confusing picture of what to expect.

But yes, I agree, at least it is cooling down a bit. If I could get the house to cool as well that would be great.

The forecast is rain today, hope that’s true, it’ll bring the pollen down, so I don’t have to blow my nose every 3 minutes.

“Hello, and welcome to my planet… this is ‘Earth’! Ironically named, because 2/3rds of it is water. The other 1/3rd is covered in grass, that’s where people live. I am allergic to grass.”

The one silver lining I just discovered… Clamastine (an antihistamine) reverses myelin (fatty shield that surrounds each neuron) damage and appears to be a new tool in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis

Our car brakes are buggered, so plans for a trip out are off the cards. Would go for a walk instead but the sun is just coming out and I learned my lesson trying to walk in that last week!

So I guess that leaves me doomscrolling Lemmy and working on some cross stitch, which really could be worse.

Have a great day, UK brethren!

It’s cooled down up here in Wigan, so I am loving life right now being able to actually do things around the house instead of stuck on the couch in front of a fan.

Not sure what I’ll actually do mind you, always tell myself I’ll use my weekends to do housework, move furniture around, work on my website, but I always end up just sitting around doing nothing since I never get enough nothing done during the week, damn work!

Happy Sunday all. It’s proper muggy here. My hair is looking increasingly like Monica’s did in Barbados.

    Ahoy UK brethren!

It’s sunny, cloudy and sticky here in Bucks. A couple of ciders and half a bottle of red wine sorted out the too hot for sleeping situation.

Now off for a leisurley father’s day stroll around Aldi

Had to scrap my car due to a spectacular MOT failure. But I got a huge crispy bacon sandwich delivered to me in bed this morning so all is well in my world.

Out of interest, did you get a reasonable scrap price?

I was talking to someone the other day that said they got nearly £1k for theirs. Last time I scrapped anything (years and years ago) I had to pay them to take it away because scrap prices were so low.

I got about 10% of the value I paid for it 11 years ago, and it was 10 years old when I bought it, so I’m not unhappy with that. I also scrapped a Ford Focus about 8 years ago and got about £35 for it! So yes it seems that breakers are now paying more reasonable amounts than in the past.

During the week, I randomly remembered that cottage loaves were a thing. So today I am attempting to make one. Just waiting for my dough to prove.

Fathers day. Mum is at work however, so my day is like any normal Sunday… Looking after a sassy five year old and a miserable one year old.

    Le sigh.
