A man’s gotta eat
Give me my frickin burger, Ricky!
Being fair outside of usa and western Europe, does anyone else even remember 9/11? As changing to global politics as it initially was, why would the rest of the world care now more than a decade after? Unless it’s one of the countries invaded by USA after.
I remember it every time I had to pour the water out of my water bottle and fill it again after I passed the security in the airport. Such a waste of time and effort.
Also I remember when I was a kid, the pilots allowed me into the cockpit during the flight and I was fascinated. After 9/11 it’s no longer possible.
The pilot let my 3-year-old into the cockpit in 2019. So, I guess that still happens post 9/11.
Was that on the ground or in flight? For me it was during the flight, almost like the Airplane! scene, but without the Turkish prison references.
Oh, it was on the ground just as we were entering the plane.
Considering he is American, it is probably most relevant whether Americans remember it still. They keep saying “never forget” about it, so I assume they still remember.
Hell, I even still remember the Alamo and Wounded Knee.
Terribly sorry to do this but, you got me thinking about stuff I’d forgotten and… >!^(I lost the game)!<
damn you
yeah, flying in planes changed for no one outside of europe and the USA.
you fucking idiot
Everyone accepted pointless shit to do at the airport and moved on with their life. You get on with bullshit rules and don’t question them. People still travel on planes, so not like anyone really protested and stopped air travel.
There’s more airport security, alright. But is that really that much of a change?
Especially if you consider how much of the security theater was added well after 9/11, because of other incidents.
It does still weigh on minds, I think, when justifying government overreach. But that would be like thinking about the Iran hostage crisis in 2001 for policy decisions.
Does anyone care about NATO anymore? Why bother learning from history.
Learning from a history and putting on a pseudopatriotic show to paint over any responsibility is not quite the same.
The US killed literally one or two orders of magnitude more civilians in retaliation for 9/11 and still acts like it was the second largest tragedy in the history of mankind, only slightly below the Holocaust.
Yes, 3000 victims is really bad, but what the US is doing about it is pathetic. It’s a simulacrum.
The person asked why should anyone care about 9/11.
My point is, it is part of a historically significant chain of events, which resulted in all of the shit you are referring to. People should care because it explains a lot of global politics we are still seeing decades later. Not for any patriotic reason.
I don’t remember (I was a two year old)
