wow that only took like 4 years to do.

it’s going to be another 10 years before they see a dime though.

oh the wheels of justice are moving. watch as they roll over the victims and blame the driver, father time.

Some jackass like Musk is gonna buy it at auction for the minimum they can get away with, and turn it into XInfoWars or something, and rehire Alex Jones because “truth is free” or some shit.

There is 0 value in this as a media company, but it’s always been a conspiracy theorist grift. It being resold that’s really all it could be. Sadly, many in MAGA hats would love to keep the grift going.

I think whoever buys infowars(dot)com should donate it to Dan and Jordan of the Knowledge Fight Podcast. That would be the perfect way to end things.

Right wing grifters would. Insane alt right freaks have a positive association with the website. As long as the new owners don’t run their mouth about murdered children, they’ll be free to spread as much trash to the feeble minded as they please.

I’m all but assuming the domain name will be pointing to a Russian IP address soon after it’s sold at auction.

I Do! I’d spend hundreds for it.

Could do all sorts of things with it!
Accept donations for all the groups Inforwars insulted or hurt in any way.
For yucks, put up a poll for how terrible a person Alex Jones is.
Add a form for recommendations on other fun things to with the site.

I’m sure that that’s plenty of physical equipment and maybe a few buildings owned by Infowars that someone will be interested in.

If I had fewer scruples, I could probably run a pretty good scam for a while.

How much do you think it’ll be to buy an Infowar?

    The actual auction site: https://360assetadvisors.com/events/fssmh/

Looks like they’re only breaking it down into three parts: Infowars the media company, Infowars the supplement store, and a pile of domain names. Production equipment might get sold as part of a separate auction.

I’m not loving the NDA though - open auctions should get more value.

That production equipment goes along with infowars the media company, I would assume. Unless it’s all, like, leased from someplace.

      Edit:

      INFOWARS (as a Package)
      • Production Rights & Materials
      • Domain Names
      • Social Media Accounts
      • Podcast Sites
      • Newsletter Subscribers
      • Production Equipment (Optional)**

**Note that the option to bid on physical assets (i.e. production equipment) as part of this offering will only be as a bulk offering in combination with an Inforwars Intellectual Property bid. If the physical assets are not sold under this offering, they will be offered through a piecemeal auction currently scheduled for December 10.

apparently the equipment does belong to infowars, it’s just the purchase at auction is only an optional part of the package. Otherwise, they’ll be sold off later.

If Elon Musk was a good person, he would buy the site and turn it into a memorial page for the victims at Sandy Hook.

But he is not a good person.

IIRC homes are protected in bankruptcy, because someone decided it would be unfair to inflict homelessness on someone for committing the crime of being broke (irony very intended).

So I am ignorant of how he couldn’t just envoke his first amendment rights on this case. I believe he is an asshole but I don’t understand how he can be sued for talking in America. Downvoted for asking a question? I thought I was on Reddit for a second.

The case was about the slander and libel, and inciting harassment. People were calling the families and telling them that were going to piss on their graves, dig up the bodies, etc. Alex Jones basically called the dad of one of the victims retarded on air.

Alex Jones featured several guests who were involved in actively harassing the family, eg Wolfgang Howiztzer.

Beyond that, he could have tried to use a first amendment defense, if he had complied with discovery. He lost the case on default, because he was withholding information and not complying with discovery. There were many, many issues where InfoWars representatives were not providing the information that they were legally required to provide. They were given many, many opportunities to correct this, and refused to do so.

I think the downvotes were assuming you “sealioning.” Alex Jones did a lot of bad faith yelling during the trial to try to falsely present it as a freedom of speech issue, so it does come across as you promoting his talking point. He really is an “info warrior” - his weapon is spewing so much shit that some of his talking points will stick.

You’re protected from government persecution for the things you say by the first amendment. It doesn’t protect you from being sued for harassment or slander by other citizens.
