I saw a year ago a comment I often think about, which is that India’s economy, where a lot of call center and remote workers are, is “token-based”. LLMs are going to hurt their labor but they are also the best placed to profit off LLMs, having already many established consumers.
What exactly do you mean by token-based?
That’s a tongue in cheek way of saying that the output of these companies are similar to the output of LLM in that they convey a bit of understanding and a bit of information. “tokens” are the unit we use to measure the quantity of inputs and outputs LLMs produce and ingest.
Unless this is adjusted to per capita, then all this really is is a list of countries ranked by population.
I think China has a large population then Japan, so this is probably per-human.
Is “using” defined? Using it daily to get work done is very different from using it once a month out of curiosity or novelty.
