In a rather stark turnaround, Google is no longer ending support for third-party cookies in its Chrome browser.
I’m still deprecating Google Chrome tho. I ran out of friends and family’s browser instances, so now I’ve expanded to my neighbors! 🥸
Joy. So they bent to advertisers.
They always have.
I know, but honestly the charges did represent a meaningful change towards privacy. But now… yeah
Their whole business model is pleasing advertisers, for better or for worse. IMHO mostly for worse.
More likely avoiding a smackdown from the EU
Mmm, maybe i know the uk had some concerns, though that seemed like the process and honestly like it would go through. Havent followed the eu stuff yet
Isn’t it wonderful that a single company is basically dictating how the internet will work, in defiance of every precedent set by the World Wide Web Consortium over decades?
