This is the purest form of battery-on-wheels I can imagine and I find this highly amusing.
Except the one Marques has can go 15mph, or about 24kph, almost twice that of the one in the article.

If it can accelerate without pedal-assist, it’s not an ebike in many jurisdictions, likely including Japan.
Japan might not have a category for e-bikes. The article says the suitcase was considered a motorbike.
Since legislators realized that mopeds had been invented.
Smh that’s clearly a class 0.5 ebike and drivers just need to share the road /s
