    I just said on another post that they only hate TikTok because it’s turning their kids into leftists. It’s the war on Rock N Roll all over again.

        i suspect it works similar to how facebook works (or used to?): whatever tickles you to interact with it more, will be placed on your page or whatever…

        but that is something that every webpage and app should avoid doing. i dont think tiktok is special here. i mean, sure one might argue the chinese government probably has a hand in this, but that would be speculation. and also, the us government is banning apps it doesnt like, so in my opinion: yeah, everyone except (most of) the users are assholes here

          I recently used YouTube on my brothers PC and its absolutely packed with right-wing content and culture war grifters. It’s wild how algorithms push us deeper into the rabbit hole.

      In Germany it’s turning the kids fascist, our nazi party is apparantly big on there and the rest of the politicians are sleeping in the “new” internet thing as usual.
