    Awhile looks weird to me for some reason but I know it’s totally a word lol

      I think it is being used incorrectly here, it should probably be underperforming awhile or underperforming for a while

      It is wrong there. “Awhile” is an adverb. “A while” is an amount of time. You’d write “awhile underperforming”.
