ROME, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Footage of police beating pro-Palestinian students drew broad condemnation in Italy on Friday, with the opposition calling for the interior minister to address parliament over the episode. Student marches were blocked by police in the Tuscan cities of Florence and Pisa, with images of officers vigorously using their truncheons on school-age protesters in Pisa triggering outrage on social media and from politicians.

the Italian government is not a fascist government, but unfortunately it is a government in which the majority of ministers and deputy ministers extol the fascist ideology and desire employment of fascist methods.

There is a substantial difference between a fascist government and a government that would like to be one, but which finds itself with a constitution which (Renzi allowing) is difficult to modify, a President of the Republic who (hoping that he survives the legislature) carries out his duties very well role as guarantor of the Constitution and an unprepared, pathetic and incapable ruling class
