    I try not to obsessively track everything that’s going on like I used to. There’s only so much one can handle without it tanking mental health. Helps me feel better to support other trans people and spread resources. Gotta focus on the things you can do and accept that there’s things you can’t do much to change. It is what it is. For transphobia in everyday life, I try to lay low and avoid any situation that might arise if I can, but it’s not always possible. Having friends who ‘get it’ to vent to helps.

      Another thing I used to do was listen to transphobes. Always used to think they might know something I don’t. They don’t know shit and now I’ve done enough searching to know that they’re just plain wrong and not worth my time. Don’t let anyone try to tell you who you are or what your nature is, because you’re the only one who truly knows and you are the only one with the power to determine it.

        This is so right. The problem with insisting on hearing every side of every argument is that you’ll end up spending so many hours of your life just absorbing the thoughts of people who are completely clueless, potentially even making yourself dumber in the process. It’s just not scalable.
